During the last decade, organoactinide-based complexes have received considerable from many scientific researchers. Such a profound interest reflects the principle that actinides possess a number of unique features that cannot be found among other transition metals. Among these unique features, is their very sizeable ionic radii, which gives rise to large formal coordination numbers and unusual coordination geometries. In addition, the presence of 5f valence orbitals is another characteristic of the actinides that differs distinctly from the d-block and the lanthanides elements, as it has been shown that these orbitals are partially responsible for metal reactivities (in contrast to the inert 4f orbitals of the lanthanides). Considering these differences, we will present how to design actinide catalysts to foster unique catalytic transformations; in the presentation, we will show:
The effect of the ligand size (five, six, and seven membered-ring N-heterocyclic iminato ligands) towards the reactivity of the complexes with oxygen-containing substrates. How to tailor a catalytic system for the selective 1,2-regioselective dearomatization of pyridines and other N-heteroaromatics via hydroboration. We will present the catalytic deoxygenation of amides towards amines and the hydroboration of esters.

Moris S. Eisen教授在耶路撒冷希伯来大学获博士学位,师从Jochanan Blum教授。1990年,Moris S. Eisen教授在以色列魏茨曼科学研究所进行博士后研究,并加入了美国西北大学Tobin J. Marks教授的课题组。1993年,Moris S. Eisen教授获得了以色列Alon奖金(the State of Israel Alon Fellowship),自此执教于以色列理工学院化学学院。Moris S. Eisen教授是以色列理工学院催化科技研究所所长,也是以色列化学学会、美国化学学会成员。自2000年起,他受邀在德国、美国、墨西哥、印度和中国等地授课。Moris S. Eisen教授曾任以色列理工学院化学学院副院长(分管本科生及研究生教学事务)、以色列教育部化学委员会成员、以色列理工学院Samuel Neeman高等研究所顾问委员会成员、以色列理工学院水研究所成员以及《The Chemist in Israel》期刊、《Main Group Metal Chemistry》期刊和《Reviews in Inorganic Chemistry》期刊的顾问委员会成员。Moris S.
