The Joint Laboratory for Next-Generation Information Technology and Digital Innovation (IoT) was co-established by Shantou University with China Telecom Shantou Branch and Tianyi IoT Technology Co., Ltd. The agreement was signed in August 2023, and the laboratory was officially unveiled in September 2024. Professor Cai Hao serves as the laboratory director.
As China Telecom's IoT capability center, Tianyi IoT, based on China Telecom's IoT laboratory resources, provides one-stop services including laboratory construction and operation consulting, IoT product research and testing, communication technology standards and testing methods, IoT technology, and IoT industry research.
Shantou University, Tianyi IoT, and Shantou Telecom will join hands to explore new models of industry-academia cooperation, produce high-end, cutting-edge, scarce, and urgently needed talents, and jointly build the "Next-Generation Information Technology and Digital Innovation (IoT)" Joint Laboratory, achieving resource sharing, complementary advantages, and mutual promotion, jointly advancing the sound development of industry-academia-research-application bases, and forging ahead steadily and achieving brilliance on the path of rapid digital economy development.
