Established in July 2023, the College of Mathematics and Computer Science comprises the Departments of Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, and Statistics and Data Science. The College also houses four research entities, including the Mathematics Research Center.

The Computer Science discipline ranks in the top 1% globally in the ESI (Essential Science Indicators), while the Mathematics discipline offers a comprehensive education from undergraduate through to postdoctoral levels. The College currently offers four master's programs and six undergraduate programs.

Among the undergraduate programs, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and Technology (including Excellent Engineer Program sponsored by the Ministry of Education) are designated as national first-class programs, while Statistics and Data Science and Big Data Technology are recognized as first-class programs in Guangdong Province.

The Mathematics discipline has been selected for the Guangdong Provincial Priority Discipline Initiative. In 2025, the College introduced a new undergraduate program in Artificial Intelligence.

With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of industry, academia, and research, the College is committed to nurturing innovative talents with both a deep sense of national responsibility and a global perspective. In September 2025, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence was established to support national strategies and regional digital economic development, contributing to the growth of new productive forces in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and fostering the development of high-level talent in Eastern Guangdong.
