New Students' Entrance of 2004
From 2nd to 12th of September, the serial activities of the New Year are held ceremoniously in the campus with the theme of "New Course and New Choice".
This activities invited famous professors and experts in domestic and international well-known figures and university, also included Shantou Philharmonic Orchestra and the art troupe of Shantou University that just came back from Europe. The activities used different ways, such as lecture, concert, theatrical evening, film showing and discussion, etc. They tried to enlighten new students to seize the opportunity when the role changes in the life, help them to inspect oneself in the new environment, take a broad view of the future, launching new journey in the life. Students' Affairs Division and Teaching Affairs Division put out various kinds of explanation meetings to explain the credit system and arrange the meeting for teachers and students at the same time; every college and department of sports prepared one's own characteristic program at the same time. In addition, the relevant department also develops the New Year websites and publishes New Year manual to offer overall information.
