| With the aim of becoming a modernized tertiary education institution with distinctive qualities and public recognition, the University has placed greater emphasis on disciplines including communication, business, medical science, art and design, and information technology, as well as enhancing support for newly-emerginged cross-disciplinary subjects such as biotechnology and life sciences. The construction of a multi-disciplinary research center will be speeded up.
